Peer Leadership is part of the SWIS program and connects recently arrived newcomer children and youth with trained peer leaders in their schools. Canadian youth and long-term newcomer youth are supported to act as mentors, helping newcomers navigate their new school environment, build friendships, and feel a sense of belonging. This program supports smoother school transitions, strengthens leadership skills among peer leaders, and fosters inclusive, welcoming school communities.
